David Wilansky

David joined QStar Capital in 2023 and currently serves as the firm’s Chief of Staff. He focuses on a variety of investing and infrastructure functions and helps oversee our partnerships with alternative asset management firms. David leverages fourteen years of experience at Magnetar Capital where he served on the event-driven investing team and then ultimately as a Senior Strategist where he worked alongside Magnetar’s CEO on some of the firm’s most unique and complex deals. David served on various Magnetar investment committees including Systematic Risk Arbitrage and Systematic SPACs. Prior to Magnetar, David served as a Vice President within the Financial Institutions Group / Investment Banking Division for Lehman Brothers and Barclays. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, David was an attorney for Bracewell LLP, focusing on real estate and corporate transactions. David began his financial services career in 1999 as a Research Associate at Bridgewater Associates, where he focused on systematic macroeconomic research and building trading systems for global markets. David holds a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College and a JD from Harvard Law School.
