Will Plumpton

Will Plumpton joined Qstar in 2025 and serves as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer. Prior to Qstar, Will spent eighteen years at Magnetar Capital where he served as COO for the Systematic Investing business unit and Head of Portfolio Finance for Magnetar globally. In these roles, he oversaw all aspects of the business unit operations, including accounting, budgeting, operations, IT, legal, compliance, risk management, and human resources. He was a member of Magnetar’s firm-wide Management, Operations, and Investment committees.  Previously, he served as President of Spirits Investment Partners (SIP), a multi-brand operating platform in the alcohol beverage sector. Will holds a BS in Finance from Miami University (OH).
